Reading the Cloth
What Super 120s actually means
The Super number measures the fineness of the wool fibre — Super 120s is spun from fibre about 17.5 microns across, Super 130s finer still. Finer fibre drapes softer and feels lighter against the hand. It is a measure of the raw wool, not a grade of quality, which is why the mill matters as much as the number.
Weight, in grams per metre, tells you how the cloth behaves. A 260-gram wool holds its line through a full day and presses crisp. A 230-gram cotton-wool blend breathes in summer. The mill — Regio Italia, Holland & Sherry, Savile Row — is the provenance: who spun it, who wove it, and to what standard. You will find all three facts listed under every collection below.
